One victim is too many and will never be enough

<p>Hello, my name is J. Michael Braiden</p> <p>I've been writing as a hobby since I was a teenager. I started with poetry and&nbsp; tried to write a book in my late teens and into my twenties. I kept losing control of it and gave up. However I continued to write poetry, honing my skills over the years. I've published a number of poems on the internet and am included three anthologies.</p> <p>I never thought I'd write fiction again but I had an idea for a story that wouldn't let me go. I didn't want to write it. I was done with fiction. But this time <em>It</em> had controll of me!&nbsp; Finally, after trying--without success-- to ignore the impulse to write I started to compose scenes, hoping I'd get it out of my system and set it aside. That was three years and more than three hundred pages ago.&nbsp; I'm in the editing stage now, working with an experienced editor. It's exciting to see it coming together and begin to read like a 'real' book.</p> <p>Why should you care about a simple work of fiction written by an author no one had heard of?</p> <p>Good question. It <em>is</em> a simple work of fiction. At the very least it's a good read. But I beleive it is much more than that.</p> <p>On the surface the book is a vampire story. I know--NOT ANOTHER ONE! On a deeper lever, however, it grapples with faith and doubt, love and hate, homosexuality and religion, but more importantly it asks a simple (yet in these times poignant) question: is it possible to be or become something so broken and evil that even God can't--or worse yet--won't redeem you?</p> <p>"Blood and Water: Yorgos The Damned" follows what happents to a young man who believes&nbsp; he must supresses who he really is and pretend to be someone he's not in order to expierence the love of God. The results are disasterous!</p> <p>I hope readers, gay or straight, conservative or liberal, will connect with Yorgo's humanity and relate to his journey.
