<p>SETH “BRIMSTONE” SCHERE</p> <p>Seth “Brimstone” Schere (Miami, FL) is a dynamic producer, audio engineer, artist, educator and youth program founder. Brimstone127 emerged from the world of B-Boys, Graffiti Artists, Deejays and Emcees in the 80’s and has continued to refine his style over the past two decades. This self and mentor-taught artist and technician has stacked up performance, engineering and production credits with artists from diverse genres, but has been fortunate to work with several Hip Hop legends. His credits include The Cure, Nelly Furtado, KRS ONE, De La Soul, Pit Bull, Fat Joe, Whodini, Rakim, The Wailers, The Roots, Talib Kweli and Ozomatli. He has also co-produced and distributed his own Hip Hop albums: Metamorphoses, Elevator Music and Renaissance of Hip Hop.</p> <p>Brimstone was an instructor at the renowned School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Miami, Florida from 2003-2009 and is currently on the faculty of Lifestyles College, piloting HipHop music therapy as a means of rehabilitation from addiction. He is a guest lecturer at Scratch Academy (www.scratch.com) and Catalyst HipHop Miami, where he lectures on HipHop culture and uses his production and engineering background to train DJ’s. He has been invited to speak at a number of universities and conferences throughout the USA, including Florida International University, University of Miami, Brandeis University and the Words, Beats & Life Hip Hop Conference.</p> <p>Brimstone is known for his pioneering work as a HipHop educator. He is the founder of PATH: Preserving, Archiving and Teaching Hip Hop, Inc. a groundbreaking youth development program that uses HipHop culture and pedagogy to promote youth leadership, educational empowerment, civic engagement, and personal development.</p> <p>His most recent production project includes working with Dutch pianists Jeroen and Maarten Van Veen to synthesize classic piano music with contemporary HipHop, soul and R & B for the Dranoff International Two Piano Foundation’s Annual Piano Slam. In addition, Brimstone is authoring a book titled “Two Decades of Rap Music” and plans to release his fourth album Molotov Cocktail later this year. He recently married Natalie Lewis-Schere (PATH Co-Founder) and is the proud father of a honor roll high school student and viola player.</p>
