Named for the legendary jazz trumpeter and East Austinite, Kenny Dorham’s Backyard is DiverseArts' performing arts park/outdoor visual art gallery and gardens. Adjacent to Victory Grill (at 1106 East 11th Street), within a block of past landmark music venues The IL Club and Charlie’s Playhouse, and only three blocks from Kenny Dorham’s last Austin home. Solidly in the Historic East Austin live music district, now known as the African American Cultural Heritage District. Keeping the soul alive.
