Philadelphia based photographer, educator and journalist.

While teaching in a middle school in Vermont I discovered an un-used darkroom and decided it was the perfect tool to reach and teach students about their communities and themselves. I had always had a passion for photography but did not know how to follow that clue. I took some classes at community colleges & that led to an MFA, completed in 1985. A lot of good luck later, I was a photographer at The Philadelphia Inquirer for twenty years. Since 2007 I have concentrated on my work & teaching.
