Ecology & Enthusiasm from Scotland to Mongolia

I first visited Mongolia in 2009 as an Earthwatch volunteer, and have never looked back.

I come from a farming background, and have spent a lot of time on organic farms selling local organic produce. My undergrad degree was a rather general Environmental Studies, but I never thought about doing a Masters until I went to Ikh Nart Nature Reserve in 2009. I loved it so much I begged to go back the following year as a field assistant, and stayed for 3 months in 2010. I loved that so much that when I came home again I did a Masters in Ecology at Aberdeen University. I have since finished that, and am now trying to source funding to do a PhD studying the relationship between Argali sheep and Ibex.

This project is a precursor to that PhD study (if you'd like to fund that too get in touch!), and should enable me to get a head start once I finally get some funding.

When I'm not in Mongolia (or fantasising about being there) I live in East Lothian, Bonny Scotland - which I love. So different to Mongolia, but the people are just as warm.
