Nicolette Lazarus

Amsterdam, Netherlands

After completing my degree and MBA, I spent the next 20 years in the wonderful world of advertising and communications. I worked for well-known agencies, including a seven year stint at Saatchi & Saatchi in London, running international campaigns for household name brands.

In 2007, I moved to Amsterdam to continue my career, and last year I decided it was time for a change. I set myself a new challenge, to create a business around something I’m even more passionate about.

I've loved fashion for as long as I can remember, so the core philosophy of my brand L for LAZARUS is my passion for personal style and wearable innovation.

With L for LAZARUS, I've set out to challenge some of the existing fashion industry 'rules'. The industry is based on designers producing entire collections, even if few people buy multiple pieces from one range.

And when you look at what’s available, there’s not much in the way of true fashion innovation. And if it is really innovative, then I believe that little of it is truly wearable.

L for LAZARUS creates pieces that are unique, stylish and practical.

The brand is for women who love fashion, but more importantly have developed an inner confidence and their own personal style. For women who are comfortable with who they are, and know what they want from fashion accessories: style, quality, versatility, and the ability to transform their look on a daily basis.

Setting up any new business is challenging, especially when, like me, you have to learn a new industry from scratch. But I'm loving every second of this exciting journey!
