Working Together We Can End These Crimes Against Humanity

This project is an outreach of the Childrens Preservation Network, Incorporated a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 1994 to educate and protect children from infancy through school age.

At the time when the organization was established the community of East Palo Alto, California had the dubious distension of being know as the murder capital of the United States. Our founder, Glenda Savage recognized that during the summer months when children were out of school there was no safe places that offered a nurturing, educational and loving space. The parents in the community were anxious as the crime rate increased from illegal drugs and turf war. Her answer to this ongoing situation was the creation of the Childrens Preservation Network. The program provided an opportunity for children to grow physically, mentally, socially and emotionally in a consistent and supportive environment.

After over 20 years in the field Glenda decided to take a leave of absence and come to South Africa with the intentions, of volunteering to train women in the fields of Film Production and Solar Energy as a business opportunity, two of her passions.

Shorty after her arrival in South Africa, Glenda recognized that her work with children was not quite over there was one more major task, to address the amount of children and women being raped, assault and murdered.

The more she heard about women and children being abducted and found murdered near their homes, she wondered why no one heard or saw anything and what if they could have made noise loud enough to attract attention.

The idea of safety whistles came to mind, a tool that has been used in other communities, this seems very plausible, primarily because of the density in most Townships. The Blow Your Whistles South Africa: A Campaign Against Rape and Abuse” was established to support the many efforts in South Africa to address and eliminate these Crimes Against Humanity.
