Director at Sober Expeditions

Originally from central New Hampshire, Chip was influenced by the mountains surrounding him. Passion and the love of the outdoors drew him to the Appalachian Trail in the summer of 2009. He traversed 500 miles in a trek of physicality, bonding, emotional release and pure enjoyment of Nature. This taste of endurance and commitment remains a key experience. Chip began climbing in the summer of 2010 while residing in Chicago, Illinois. His response to the urban environment was very physical and free climbing became his focus to fulfill his need for positive liberating activity. He came to challenge the intensity of Chicago and city dynamics. Chip edited and published The Urban Quiet: Urban Guide, showing pictures and locations of his inspiring ascents. Los Angeles is now his home where he will publish another book of urban adventure. He founded Sober Expeditions in the winter of 2011 as a way to share his experiences in adventure and personal development.
