I am an electrical engineer and I have been working on electric cars for about five years full-time. I started as soon as I left the movie theater after seeing "Who Killed The Electric Car". I designed and built my first car within the first year in 2007 with the idea of selling kits. I also built a kitplane that I finished in 2003 that I fly regularly and I learned a lot from the kit plane industry. I'd like to build an updated prototype of my electric kit car and release the plans as open source so that anybody could build one or buy parts and kits from anyone who wants to sell them. These would be simple vehicles for basic transportation but they could be upgraded, modified and maintained over the years as the design continues to evolve. This would support local manufacturing and people could buy a car that they they could always get parts for or change to suit their needs due to the very modular design and continuously new options. I am totally dedicated to this project and I already built a prototype that works very well. They will only get better.
