When I was 16 years old, my love for stories was transformed when I lost my older sister Katie, 19, in a single car accident that winter. My prior need to read and play make-believe became an insatiable desire to discover people and stories around me. I couldn't escape my reality anymore, but I discovered reality is sometimes what we need. I've met too many people who think their story isn't good enough, we need to be seeing those who remain hidden.
