Making content that matters.
As a black lesbian Caribbean filmmaker, I am passionate about making work unique to my voice. Rarely my voice is heard and film is one way that I can give my opinions on issues relating to my life. My strongest work still remains Wisdom and Understanding (2008), a short experimental film created for my thesis project. The film was accepted into the New York LGBT Film Festival and the Oakland Black LGBT Festival that same year. In 2009, my short film, "Sisters" about a young woman struggling to reconcile with her mother and sister as their mother dies, was screened at the Austin LGBT Film Festival. Currently, my online project, The Rainbow Collective, (therainbowcollective.com) has made a mark on the LGBT community merging race, gender, religion and pop culture by producing web series and posts that contribute to the dialogue on equality. This year, I will be creating a short film called Save Julian, film for and by LGBT homeless youth. By day, I am an Associate Producer for NBC Universal. I look forward to contributing to the change I wish to see in the world through my films.
