At an early age, he became enraptured by Russia and moved to Moscow to pursue a life in theatre and film. He is widely known as Kostya in the series Chicks. Stephen became founding artistic director of Safe Theatre, a community-driven project. Stephen made his documentary film debut at the 17th Architecture Biennale in Venice with Majlis: a film about a bamboo-textile structure made simultaneously on two different continents by Caravane Earth.
