Helping to make the world a better place is at the core of my well-being.

I was an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for more than 25 years where I worked in the field of domestic violence prevention. In December 2013 I retired from the CDC, giving up half my pension to start Mountain Bird Designs. I am also an avid quilter and textile artist. And I believe strongly in empowering women, protecting our environment, and providing food for the hungry. Everyone deserves a chance to thrive. It makes the world a better place for all of us.
