A composer and conductor. Founded Sam Kohler New Music Ensemble in 2013.

Since 2013, Kohler has led his own ensemble, the Sam Kohler New Music Ensemble. The Sam Kohler New Music Ensemble is the only of its kind in the state of Louisiana. Since its inception, it has quickly pushed itself to the forefront of the classical music scene in New Orleans. Its goal is to champion new works by contemporary composers. It is made up of high school, college, and professional musicians.
