Help us reach our goal of raising the money for IVF!

Infertility (the inability to conceive after 12 months of trying) affects up to 15 % of the population. Luckily, many folks can conceive with the help of simple ovulation tracking, use of ovulation induction (pills or injections) or the use of IUI (intra-uterine insemination). A smaller percentage of us have persistent infertility, which is best treated with IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) or IVF with ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection), the most invasive and expensive of all of the fertility treatments currently being used.

My husband and I have been trying to create our family for the past 4 years. We've gone through 48 monthly cycles that started with hope and optimism and ended with heartache and tears. In the past two years with our fertility specialist, we have spent our savings on medications and less expensive procedures (i.e. Intra-uterine insminations) and have finally arrived at our last ditch effort to have a family: In-Vitro Fertilization with Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF with ICSI).

We've been told that given our ages we have anywhere from a 35 - 50% chance if we use this technology, as long as we act soon. Although it would be easier on us financially to save up for 2-3 years first, egg quality only gets worse with time, and our best bet is to act now. We're ready to take the gamble, trust that the funds will come, endure the multiple injections of hormones every day, pray, and trust that this WILL be the pathway for our baby to come into our lives.

We're trying to raise enough money to do a minimum of one cycle to make our dreams of becoming parents come true. Thanks so much for considering donating whatever you can to help us with our dream!

We need $7400 to cover cycle monitoring lab fees ($300), IVF program registration fees ($300), IVF treatment ($5800 for anaesthesia, egg retrieval, and the return of embryos to my uterus 3 days later) and ICSI ($1000 for the injection of an individual sperm into each viable egg). We've saved enough for the taxes, transportation to the clinic (we live about an hour away from our clinic), medications that are not covered by insurance... and now we're placing our trust in the universe and the kindess of strangers to help us make the rest of it happen so that we can hold our own little miracle someday very soon!

http://www.isisrfc.com/fees.php

Your donation (in whatever amount you can afford) will help us to bring our baby into this world. No donation is too small, and every dollar that we raise will be received with the utmost gratitude and love.

Some people can’t contribute financially, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help! Please get the word out--TWITTER, FACEBOOK, and EMAIL your friends to ask them for their support. We appreciate your generosity of spirit in whatever way you can help!

If you'd like to read my blog the link is below:

http://www.fertilethoughts.com/forums/blogs/wannabebe2/
