<P>Kelly has been working as a director since she was a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. After completing her Master's Degree in Theatre there, she moved to Ireland and obtained a second MA in Drama & Theatre Studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway. </P> <P> </P> <P>It was while in Galway that she officially launched her theatre company, Ninth Wave, with an ambitious production of <EM>Amadeus</EM> at the medieval St. Nicholas Church. Her second production, <EM>Hamlet & Ophelia</EM>, was part of the Project '06 Arts Festival, and along with being nominated for Best Production, resulted in a Best Director award for Kelly. She also directed her own innovative adaptation of <EM>Crime and Punishment</EM> and the biographical play about James Joyce's daughter, <EM>Lucia Mad</EM>, in Galway.</P> <P> </P> <P>Upon returning to the United States in 2007, Kelly took the position of Managing Director for the Academy Theatre, a small historic venue in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Along with overseeing the full administration of the non-profit organization, she acted as producer for more than 20 in-house productions. For the 2009/2010 season, she also remounted her own productions of <EM>Amadeus</EM> and <EM>Crime and Punishment</EM> for Academy audiences.</P> <P> </P> <P>Kelly is now focusing primarily on her own projects, especially her production of <EM>The Elephant Man</EM> at The Mutter Museum in Philadelphia, which takes place April 2011. It will represent, for her, the most perfect pairing of location and story that she has yet to create.<BR></P>
