Old Tech New

I have spent more then 25 plus years in the IT field designing, deploying and reconfiguring small to large size networks and PC workgroups for small to medium size businesses. I also have extensive knowldge pertaining to software, testing equipment and highend audio devices.

For the last past 15 years I have decided I wanted to know more about the enter workings of devices and their board level design and repairing. That decision has lead me on a quest to re-engineer what the indusrty of electronics decides what is waste by tossing out electronic equipment that still can be utilized in todays homes or small business or just to introduce someone to technology for the first time.

My quest has lead me to a numerous amount of outlets who basically load the landfields with working equipment to either be disasemble, crushed, or stored for years. Most is stored or ship from location to location before finally being recycled.

My thoughts where what if we could keep these items from the landfield and put them back into homes, schools or businesses for an extended amount of time before recycling them.

Great ideal right? yes it is a great ideal and for the last 5 years I have been doing just that FULL TIME with a wife and 2 school age children. The hours and scheduling is very demanding working 6 days a week all year round but it has been good, sometimes rough, sometime not very balanced and sometimes I'm not welcomed. The recycle community is world all of it's own and they make their owns rules or have none at all thus making what I do difficukt but no impossible.

That's the good part
