HogMaw ain't your grannys bluegrass, no sir, they're bringing a distinct abstract sound to string band music that can only be described as THUNDERGRASS!

In only 2 and a half years together HogMaw’s resume includes over 40 festival appearances and nearly total 150 performances. recently HogMaw won the 2011 Unsung Hero Band from the Camp Ground Competition at the 50th Philladelphia Folk Fest. and got the distinct honor of opening up the main stage festivities at The 50th Philly Folk Fest. HogMaw has also performed at many other major musical events such as multiple appearances at DelFest in Cumberland MD, Camp Jam in the Pines in Monroeville NJ, and Allentown, PA’s Musikfest. They have opened for National acts such as bluegrass powerhouses The Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Seldom Scene, Cornmeal, Cabinet and The Hackensaw Boys. HogMaw also plays a full compliment of traditional bluegrass, covers, and even some classic rock at their live shows. Stop out and "dance yer ass off" at one of their shows!

HogMaw is Matt Baldwin on guitar and vocals, multi-instrumentalist Colin Reeves on mandolin, banjo, dobro, manjo (combination banjo mandolin), and occasional guitar, and Ryann Lynch on fiddle and foot percussion. Supporting HogMaw on the bass chair has been Johnny Calamari who also appears on the upcoming album. Grass roots support from an ever growing fan base has helped spread the word about HogMaw far beyond the band’s geographic reach. Through a fan supported donation based FREE CD project HogMaw has distributed thousands of CD’s of their live performances to fans that have attended their shows. Each fan is encouraged to “Please Copy and Distribute”, and an alarming number have done just that. Sure they have a traditional Bluegrass swagger, but bluegrass just isn’t big enough to contain their sound. Add the title jam band, call them progressive, and you’re a bit closer, and be aware that they rock the f**k out." --Jonathan Hunt, TriState Indie

"HogMawwwww I love saying that. you guys are terrific pickers I mean that" - Gene Shay on the Folk Show 88.5 WXPN Philadelphia
