<p>PlayGround, the Bay Area's leading playwright incubator, is coming to L.A.! Since 1994, PlayGround has developed more than 600 original short plays by 175+ Bay Area emerging playwrights and has commissioned 41 new full-length plays by PlayGround alumni. Many of these plays have been premiered in partnership with Bay Area theatres through PlayGround's innovative New Play Production Fund. In 2012, PlayGround launched the inaugural PlayGround Film Festival, featuring short films by local filmmakers and writers adapted from short plays originally developed and premiered by PlayGround. PlayGround-LA is a fiscally sponsored project of PlayGround Inc., a California not-for-profit corporation based in San Francisco.</p>
