With 30 years of experience, scientific publications, patents and books, Roberto Pieraccini widely contributed to nearly all aspects of human-machine spoken language technology. At Bell Labs and AT&T Labs he pioneered the use of statistical machine learning for spoken language understanding and dialog, He managed advanced dialog technology teams at SpeechWorks and IBM Research, he was the CTO of SpeechCycle, the CEO of ICSI at Berkeley, and he is now giving Jibo the gift of speech.
