<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b></b></span><br></p> <p class="p2"><span class="s1">James was born and bred in Brighton and grew up in East Sussex and retains many working connections there and is a regular panel guest at events hosted by such organisations as Lighthouse and Screen South.</span></p> <p class="p3"><span class="s1"></span><br></p> <p class="p2"><span class="s1">He produced the feature length documentary Beyond Biba: A Portrait of Barbara Hulanicki in 2009. He then released the film himself in the UK, culminating in over 65 cinema screenings followed by a successful DVD release. It was then sold to a number of territories including SKY TV (UK) and The Sundance Channel (Europe/Asia).</span></p> <p class="p3"><span class="s1"></span><br></p> <p class="p2"><span class="s1">In 2011, James released Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo his first film as a distributor in the UK with the aim of releasing three to five films a year.
