Rina Sherman lived and filmed for seven years with the Headman of Etanga, his wife and children and their community
Rina Sherman was exiled from South Africa and settled in France in 1984. A classical musician by training, she worked as a performance artist and in television before turning to film-making. In 1990 she completed a doctorate in visual anthropology with distinction at the Sorbonne, supervised by the French filmmaker, Jean Rouch. Rina filmed with the Ovahimba for seven years, in Namibia and Angola, documenting their cultural heritage. http://www.rinasherman.com/about.html
