<p>I am a 46 year old Transgender Male. I volunteer at the resource center 3 to 5 days a week and I serve as a volunteer on our Speakers Bureau as needed. I have found through my transition that the knowledge of who and what we are is really just not there. Healthcare is the worst. I find myself educating most of my doctors and nurses on the proper way to address me.&nbsp;When there is a change in office staff It becomes difficult. I tend to speak my mind so I do not really mind educating people but the majority of transgender are not. They simply want to live their lives and stay out of the limelight. That is what the TGRCNM is here for! to speak for those that can not or will not speak for themselves.</p> <p>I am currently in school full time working on my Sociology degree with the emphasis on Gender Studies. I hope to be a paid employee of the center some day but for now I am happy doing what I am doing as a volunteer.</p>
