I am a concerned citizen of Spokane and the world at large.

I am a member of Occupy Spokane, and am involved in the work of several other community action groups such as Envision Spokane which seeks, through the initiative process, to amend the Spokane City Charter to include a Community Bill of Rights, based in part on the work of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund.

I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1994 with a Bachelor's Degree with a dual major in Philosophy and Humanities.

Like many people, I care very much about the future world that my children and grandchildren will inhabit, but I want to see positive changes made in my lifetime, not just hope that they will occur.

To that end, I have chosen to spend the rest of my days doing what I can do to help. With a lifetime of experience and an extensive education, I believe I have the foundation to effect change myself as well as mentor those younger than I in ways to make positive changes.

I believe whole-heartedly that attending the LocalizeThis! training camp will enable me to acquire useful tools that I can share with other activists here in Spokane, and we can then raise awareness and enlist the support of other local citizens, in making Spokane a better place to live and by extension take a step in making the world a better place as well.
