Natural Builder and Community Placemaker!
<p>Also known as <strong>“MEKA”</strong>, Michael Bunch attended his first Cob Cottage Co. workshop in 1996 and proceeded to build a two-story Cob house in Wolf Creek, Oregon. He has taught and demonstrated natural building techniques via public events & workshops, locally, and internationally, and has facilitated Placemaking projects at four of the annual Village Building Convergence events in Portland, Oregon. Meka continues to do freelance work, specializing in creating benches, garden walls, kiosks, earthen ovens, and Rumford fireplaces with <a title="Artisan Builders Collective" href="http://www.ArtisanBuildersCollective.com/" target="_blank">Artisan Builders Collective.com</a></p> <p>As Project Manager at <a title="O.P.E.N." href="http://http//:www.openAsheville.org">O.P.E.N. (Outreach Projects Engaging Neighborhoods)</a>, a Placemaking non-profit, Meka works on everything from envisioning new projects, leading design charettes and collecting community feedback, to getting down and dirty with folks working to create a better place for themselves and their community.</p>
