For those of you that don't know me, my name is Jessica Walker. I have two wonderful children, I’m a UD graduate, a substitute teacher, and Greg's ex-wife.

My family and I helped Greg open Hank's Hideout eight years ago. Over the past eight years Greg and I have gone in different directions. Although many people think we split up over the bar, or that I hate the bar, which is far from the truth. On the contrary I enjoy the bar, and I love the great people I have met there, but I do not have the “zest” for it that Greg does.

From the beginning the bar was Greg’s dream, and I always joke it was my nightmare. With the bar I thought of liability and responsibility, where Greg thought of possibility and more possibility.

It really was Greg’s dream and from the beginning he had a vision for it that was hard for anyone else to see. Over the past eight years he has worked very hard to make Hank’s Hideout a better place for his customers and the community. Over the past year and a half, Greg was getting closer to the bar he had envisioned.

On July 1, 2012 when my daughter called me to tell me about the fire, my heart just broke for Greg. I knew that he did not have insurance and that the fire had destroyed all that he had worked for over the past eight years.

Greg is an amazing person! He is an outstanding father, a loyal friend, he has a heart of gold, an amazing work ethic, and if you know him then you know he would do anything and everything in his power to help another person in need.

I know that he will eventually rise from this loss, but I thought a little help from his friends would be nice.
