Born and raised in Scotland, Philip trained in filmmaking at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and then in acting at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London. His debut feature film The Gaelic King (a.k.a. Dalriata's King) was partly funded on Indiegogo and went on to be distributed internationally as well as receiving a commendation from the Scottish Parliament as a triumph of resourceful filmmaking.
