Tim Z. Hernandez is an award winning author and researcher, born and raised in California's San Joaquin Valley. The recipient of an American Book Award, Colorado Book Award, International Latino Book Award, and the Zora Neal Hurston Award, his search for the Los Gatos Canyon plane crash victims has been featured on NPR, PRI’s The World, the New York Times, and other major media outlets. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas El Paso’s Bilingual MFA in Creative Writing program.
