Horses and horsepower

Hi, everyone, my name is Bobbie; my husband and I are lifelong animal lovers.

My passion from a young age has been horses. As a girl I read a book called “San Domingo” about a Spanish Mustang stallion and began to dream of one day having my own Spanish Mustang.

Cazador del Trueno came into my life when he was just 9 months of age. He was wild and shaggy, scared of people, and covered in ticks. Over the next several months, he blossomed into a brave, curious, beautiful young stallion, who LOVES people. He was a part of our lives for almost 3 years.

Last year I made the difficult decision to find him a new home. He was bought by a wonderful lady named Kirsty who lives in Queensland, Australia. Cazador began a big adventure that lasted a few months and took him from South Dakota to Australia. Since he landed there he has had many more adventures, including a trip to the beach on his birthday! (the campaign photo is from that trip, and was taken by Warrick Pye)

I had a feeling that Kirsty would offer him a fantastic home. She has proven that to be true with his recent eye injury. She had him rushed to the best veterinary hospital and told them to do whatever they could to save his eye. All the while knowing that the cost would be high. She is worried about paying the bill, as many of us would be. My heart went out to her immediately, knowing how difficult it is to worry about an injured animal and then to have to worry about the cost of treatment. I think a situation like this has happened to many of us animal lovers.

I feel so helpless, being so far away from Cazador and it is my hope that my first fundraiser here on Indiegogo will help Kirsty to meet his vet bills so that she can focus on his healing.

Cazador is a handsome, friendly stallion who loves life. He is curious, brave, playful, and it makes me sick to think of him going through this pain and the possibility of losing his eye. Where he is being treated now is the best of the business - his doctor is a specialist from the University of Queensland - but of course that level of care does cost a lot of money.

We are all concerned about the cost, on top of the worry for Cazador, and I wanted to help. I feel so helpless, being on the other side of the world from a horse who was one of my “kids”. This is the only way I could think of to help him and to help Kirsty.

Thank you again, so much, for stopping by. Please remember - every little bit helps, even $5. If you absolutely cannot afford to make a contribution, please be sure to share the link to the campaign and click the Facebook "Like" under the video before you leave. Thank you!
