In 2007, I started The Plant Exchange with 10 volunteers and 75 participants. It has grown from an exchange between neighbors of plants, tools and equipment into a source for other organizations and local gardening businesses wishing to build community and support green projects. Each event, held every March and October, now draws over 1000 people, uses 300 active volunteers, provides 3500 plants with new homes and has become the premier plant exchange in California.
