Independent Contemporary Dance Artist
<p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 14px; font-family: Times; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469);">Johanna Dalgleish graduated from the Contemporary Dance Program of The School of Dance in Ottawa, Canada, in 2008. Through the school she worked with a diverse range of choreographers including Heidi Strauss, Sasha Ivanochko, Emmanuel Jouthe, Yvonne Coutts, Sylvie Desrosiers, Marc Boivin, Sarah Williams and Tedd Robinson whose choreography she performed at the Canada Dance Festival. She also had the privilege of training extensively with Canadian dance icon Peter Boneham. Upon graduation she performed in Dancing in the Street, a project exploring improvisation in public spaces presented by The School of Dance and the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion. She has performed with Tara Luz Danse of Ottawa since 2009, including in ‘Ce Souffle qui M’Habite – Les Billes’ in Ottawa in 2010 and in 2011 at the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival. She has participated in numerous improvisation opportunities throughout Ottawa and Victoria where, in the summer of 2011, she performed with choreographer Brandy Baybutt in A Horse of Air Production’s: ‘Go Light’. Johanna is currently working on a solo project with choreographer Meagan O’Shea of Toronto that has included residencies at Dance Victoria and the Ottawa Dance Directive. She lives in Vancouver where she is a Qualified Fletcher Pilates® Teacher.</span></p>
