Producer/Director
A little about me; I have grown up through the film, theatre & entertainment industry. All my family have been involved in this business one way or another so it was a natural progression for me to make a career out of it. As a kid my dad use to take me to the theatre with him while the cast were rehearsing. I watched my god father Elmer Bernstein conduct the orchestra in the studio while they recorded the score for the film "My Left Foot". At 16yrs I started working as an extra on film & TV sets. After graduating from University I began my work experience as a trainee Assistant Director, keeping umbrellas over the cast while it rained and standing far away from the camera as we locked off the road for traffic and pedestrians! Over time I worked my way up the ladder and became a Film Location Manager, scouting for all sorts of locations here in Ireland and abroad. I have worked on some of the best and some of the worst films ever made in Ireland, some of the biggest commercials and the smallest of photo shoots. With 20 years of film experience behind me, this is my first film to direct. One of the things I have loved the most is interviewing the contributors and researching material. I am in my element when the camera is turning over and in awe as I sit with Gretta Ohle, my editor watching how the magic of this film has begun to unfold. The organic nature of documentary film making inspires me and some times tortures me!
