Although widely known for her roles as an actress in HBO's The Wire and The Corner... Maria Broom is also a celebrated dancer and storyteller. A Fulbright Scholar, OSI Fellow and former TV news reporter, she currently teaches at the Baltimore School for the Arts. With more than 40 years of teaching and performing for children in the U.S. and beyond, her methods of reaching and engaging children have made her a truly beloved presence in schools. Her stories and storytelling make people happy.
