She spent a bit of time on the skins in a low-fi, original all-female pop band and booked the tours of a few Canadian bands. She’s worked for 17 years at the Calgary Folk Music Festival in the areas of artist programming and marketing (where her current title is Artistic Director), plus the usual ‘other duties as required’, has served on a bunch of non-profit organizations’ boards (CJSW Radio, Folk Alliance Canada, Bubonic Tourist, Calgary Animated Objects Society, the Calgary Professional Arts Alliance, National Campus/Community Radio Association, etc). Kerry was on the production team of the 2007 Aboriginal Juno Celebration, the co-chair of the Juno Legacy committee and is now co-chair of Music Calgary. She’s a proud and active member of the western festivals mafia and hosts the CJSW Radio program Alternative to What? whenever she’s not traveling to conferences and festivals.
