Rob currently works in Toronto as a freelance cinematographer and film technician, working in several different formats including feature films, short films, music videos, commercials and documentaries. His interest in capturing images began with photography, focusing on B&W and color darkroom photo printing. His skills have been recognized by the Young Audiences of Rochester Festival, winning the award for best cinematography. His passion for the craft has lead him to study and work with world renowned cinematographers Cesar Charlone A.B.C. A.S.C., Ousama Rawi C.S.C. B.S.C. and Doug Koch C.S.C. His other passion in life is working with mindfulness practitioners, specifically within the Wake Up movement. He recently helped to organize and support the first Wake Up day of mindfulness in Toronto, Canada. Rob was a lay member of the USA Wake Up Tour in fall of 2012, travelling with the fourfold Sangha. During this tour he deepened his practice while also capturing images of the tour that have resulted in several online videos. Rob also supported the Applied Ethics retreat at the American School of London, again capturing video content and acting as a lay member of the team. The importance of reaching a broader international Wake Up and Applied Ethics community through filmmaking and online content is one that Rob is incredibly excited about as it allows him to bring together both his passions; filmmaking and mindfulness.
