<p>My name is Nicole Mark and I'm a Portland, Oregon native. I've been making photos since I was ten years old when I acquired a little 110 camera. I started out taking grainy photographs of my friends at summer camp, and I haven't stopped since.</p> <p>After completing an Associate Degree of Science (emphasis in Anthropology, Psychology and Biology) last winter, I decided to take a break from school and I entered a doula workshop. For those of you who haven&rsquo;t heard this term before, a doula (derived from the Greek word for &ldquo;slave&rdquo;) is someone that gives emotional, spiritual and physical support to a woman in labor. I loved being around expecting mamas and babies so photographing them was a natural progression.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>I have also begun a project called "Nude for Herself"- dedicated to appreciating female bodies every size, shape, color and age. But, appreciating your body is important for everyone, so this project is open to any gender- x, y, z and the rest of the alphabet!</p> <p>I am currently based out of Portland, Oregon, but I travel through Washington to British Columbia frequently.
