TRAP's ongoing efforts provide its students with the tools and confidence needed to succeed in the world while teaching the world understanding and compassion.

The Rhythmic Arts Project is an educational program that uses percussion as a medium to address basic life and learning skills in individuals with developmental disabilities. Beyond that we strive to include this underserved population in our everyday life. We give them the tools and confidence to succeed in the typical world while teaching the typical world understanding and compassion.

By integrating drums and percussion into existing teaching methods/modalities, we address basic life skills such as turn taking, spatial awareness, kinesthetic awareness, behavior skills, fine and gross motor skills, lateral concepts, prepositional concepts, reading, writing and arithmetic, as well as visual, tactile and auditory perceptions. Teaching occurs in an environment that is fun and not threatening so participants develop improved confidence and a more positive self-image. Exercises are based in Percussion, Developmental Therapy and Special Education.
