Martin Smedjeback
Brandbergen, Sweden
A peace and animal rights activist with a love for education.
I was born 1973 in Malmö in the south of Sweden. At the University of Lund I took a bachelor's degree in psychology. From 2001 to 2007 I worked at the Swedish Fellowship of Reconciliation as nonviolence secretary. My work was mostly in Sweden but I also facilitated workshops in Sudan, South Sudan, Palestine and Colombia. The last two years I've toured Sweden holding a lecture called Why we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows, based on the research of the psychologist and author Dr. Melanie Joy.
