<div id="biography"><p>Besides once proudly executing Fred's so-called "dirty work", I'm a veteran Detroit music producer with credits including recordings by Patti Smith ("Don't Smoke In Bed"); Fred "Sonic" Smith (<span style="font-style: italic;">Sweet Nothing</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">City Slang</span>); former Was/Not Was keyboardist Luis Resto (<span style="font-style: italic;">Combo De Momento</span>); a compilation album featuring the music of Carolyn Striho, Luis Resto and David McMurray (<span style="font-style: italic;">Secrets & Space</span>) and a veritable trove of Detroit Energy Asylum recordings.</p> <p>The MC5 documentary is an absolute masterpiece and David Thomas and Laurel Legler deserve high praise both for their creativity and for their valiant struggle to make this tremendous film a reality. <br></p><p>And Fred "Sonic" Smith and Rob Tyner deserve to be recognized as two of Detroit's all-time great songwriters and musicians; at this moment in time there's no greater way to honor them than by releasing this monumental documentary film.<br></p> </div>
