Founder of Burro

I'm Whit Alexander, founder of Burro.

My career has been "unconventional", to put it generously. I studied, lived, and worked throughout West Africa in my twenties before moving to Microsoft to lead the team that built the Encarta World Atlas. Things then got a little crazy when my friend, Richard Tait, asked me to co-develop the Cranium board game with him. Ten years of outrageous fun and five minutes of fame later, we sold Cranium, and I decided to come back to Africa to accomplish my decades-old dream of building the go-to brand for affordable tools to make life sustainably better for low income families.

Today I "split" time living in Koforidua, Ghana, where Burro’s pilot branch is located, and my home in Seattle, where I have two amazing college-aged kids, a bad cat, and a very understanding wife.
