An Interest in Computers becomes a Career
Since the 1960s, I have been fascinated with computers and how to instruct them to do interesting things, whether it was programming a calculation in FORTRAN on an IBM 1620 or writing an IBM 360 Basic Assembly Language utility to copy a deck of punched cards on an IBM 360 Model 20 computer. When microcomputers arrived in the late 1970s, my wife and I attended the hobby computer shows, pushing our little boy along in a stroller. Today, I write software and develop websites for a living.
