Butch Maier made his feature film debut in 2009 with his Sumbadhat Productions romantic comedy "The Bride and the Grooms." The microbudget picture, about a woman who accidentally gets engaged to 4 men at the same time, played in movie theaters in 12 states. He rewrote a Christmas version, "Five Gold Rings," which was optioned by a production company for nearly what his first movie cost to make. In 2018, Maier is making the family comedy "Mother of a Day," about a man who forgets Mother's Day.
