Afreen is a current MBA student at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, with over 7 years of research in nanomedicine. She has conducted extensive studies on applications of carbon nanotechnology in drug delivery & bio-imaging which led to the patent of the Carbon Dot in 2008. She graduated from NCSU with degrees in Microbiology & Biochemistry, She has also conducted research at Johns Hopkins. At the age of 17 her first DNA sequence was published and had her first patent filed at the age of 20.
