About Cammie
<p>Cammie Toloui is a photographer who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been photographing everything and everyone since she got her first camera at a yard sale when she was still in elementary school. In other words, it has been a life-long passion. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Photojournalism from San Francisco State University and went on to become an online photo editor for SFGate.com (the San Francisco Chronicle's web site) for 12 years. <br /><br />Along the way, Cammie photographed street characters, rode around in an ambulance, documented the backstage life of a stripper, traveled to Soviet Russia to photograph punks, bikers and street kids, followed the trials and thrills of a Russian punk band on their first foray into Western Europe, and too many other adventures to list here.<br /><br />Cammie's work has shown in London's Tate Modern, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, New York's New Museum of Contemporary Art, Camerwork Gallery in San Francisco and the Wight Art Gallery in Los Angeles, among other places. She was awarded the New York Times Award for Excellence in Photojournalism, The Greg Robinson Memorial Photojournalism Scholarship and was honored to attend the Eddie Adams Workshop in New York.<br /><br />
