<p><span>Jon Hess is a junior at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, in the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television. Over the past seven years, Jon has written, directed, edited and acted in several short films, both narrative and documentary, and many times filling all those roles in a single project. Two short films have been recognized with awards from various film programs, including the Scholastic Art and Writing Award from the Connecticut Arts Education Association and an Official Government Citation from the State of Connecticut. Recently, his short film, "Traffic Control Division" was nominated as part of NYU film school's Sight and Sound Showcase, held every semester. In addition to writing and directing films, Jon is an aspiring comedian training in Improvisation and Sketch Comedy Writing at the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Jon also participated enthusiastically and extensively in Amity High School's renowned theatre program as a cast member of </span><em>Grease, RENT, </em><span>and </span><em>Les Miserables</em><span>; and was an original company member of NYU's first and only student-run Shakespeare company, Shakespeare in the Square, performing in </span><em>Julius Caesar, Twelfth Night,</em><span> and </span><em>Macbeth</em><span>. Jon is thrilled to be back in the director's chair to make this deeply personal project.</span></p>
