<p>Trayc Claybrook is an artist, filmmaker, and peace builder. She is recognized for her distinctive narrative approach to painting, and has transcended mediums by using the camera and the video screen as a canvas. Her latest work is the meditative <em>Peace Pilot</em>, four monumental-scale High Definintion video and sound triptychs that reflect on the hero&rsquo;s search for transformation and peace.&nbsp;</p> <p>For over 16 years, she has worked in visual effects, video, and the visual arts, and she has an extensive background in painting, printmaking, book making, and graphic design.&nbsp; Her paintings and films have been recognized with awards and have been showcased in exhibitions across the U.S. Claybrook uses painting and video to explore ideas about personal transformation, spirituality and the unfolding of consciousness through universal human experiences. Her influences are rooted both in Eastern and Western spiritual practices, including Buddhism, Christianity, Shamanism and Humanism. Using the language of dreams and memories, she opens a door to each individual viewer to find themselves and their own experiences within her work, and invites each to see the work in a unique, personal way.</p> <p>Claybrook received her BFA in printmaking at The Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA in painting and graphic design from Texas Woman&rsquo;s University. She is currently working towards her PhD in Art, Aesthetics and Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is professor of Digital Filmmaking in the BFA program at the Art Institute of Dallas. She is mother to twelve year old son Furious McKissick.</p>
