Farmer Chick

I'm a single parent, a full time college student and an urban farmer. When my kids were little I was diagnosed with thyroid disease but my insurance would not cover the cost of treating it. So I started on this journey of learning to be healthy, letting my food be my medicine and finding a way to heal myself. I live in a little town in Southeast Missouri where the only market sells overly processed, pre packaged food. My little urban farm is the only source of healthy food in this small town food desert. I am majoring in Plant and Soil Science so I'm using the priciples I've learned and applying them to food production that is "beyond organic".
