The beginnings of ETHOS
Moved by the resilience and friendship of a group of Hmong girls, I started to dig deeper into the reasons for poverty in the region in 1998. Stuck for a solution, I returned to England, and started looking into options. Together with friends, we registered a charity, and got working permission from the People’s Aid Action Committee in Vietnam for a project to go ahead in Sapa. ETHOS was born! In the summer of 1999, ETHOS established an Ethnic Minority Education & Vocational Training Centre.
