Deep Lamichhane Gurung was born in a shed among wooden thresher and buffaloes in a village called Yangjakot, Nepal. Having spent his early childhood running half naked chasing the village livestock he was finally parceled off to India. Where he completed his high school in St Augustine's School, Kalimpong. His studies in film led him Melbourne and later London. 'Tel', is his attempt to document a culture, a language and a way of life that is slowly losing to modern change and thought.
