Army Veteran, Former Deputy needs help

I spent a total of 4 years serving in the Army. After getting out of the Army, I had a few jobs over the years until I finally became a deputy in Florida. A year after being hired as a deputy, I was off duty and on the way to a doctor appointment when the person behind me was not paying attention and ran into me at a light. The accident totalled both of our vehicles. I did a year of therapy before having the first surgery to repair damge done to my lower spine. 5 years later, the damage to the lower spine was back and I had to have a second, more severe sugery to repair the damage. About a year and a half after that surgery, I started to get the symptoms again. My doctor sent me out for MRI's and found that that last surgery had failed. He told me that I was no longer fit to work as a deputy. I was forced to resign due to my medical conditions. I have since filed for Social Security Disability and for VA Disability for other issues I have from the 4 years that I did serve in the Army. Until either one of those go through, I have no income.
